    Hello,

Is there a way to have customers consent checked by default on checkout page?
And if the user does not want this e-mail, he can uncheck it.

    Thanks!

    Thanks for trying our plugin!

Unfortunately, EU laws do now allow “automatically checked” checkboxes to receive consent from customers.

How can someone not under EU jurisdiction can have the checkbox automatically checked?

@gurugrv there is a way, you may just have to dig a little…

@gurugrv also it is worth mentioning even if you manage to check the box by default on the checkout page, there is ZERO way to get consent from users paying via the cart using digital wallet workflows, the plugin folks have confirmed that. Also in testing there’s no way to deal with a “manual” order either. This enforcement was not veery well thought out IMO.

The vendor’s continued fallback on EU regulations that do not affect US store’s terms and conditions is weak. Also for the record if you read CusREV’s terms it is stated that you and/OR the consumer need to provide consent, so for some reason they’ve had a knee jerk reaction to something.
