custom.css changes not having any effect

      WordPress v3.8.2 – Hueman theme v2.1.3

    Objective: Reduce amount of padding above and below my header logo

    Method: Modified /public_html/wordpress/wp-content/themes/hueman/custom.css to include following

    #header .pad { padding-top: 0; padding-bottom: 0; }

    Result: No change

    However if I place the above code in style.css, it works!

    What do I need to do to get the code working in custom.css?
