Custom write panel configuration?

  • I have a client who has requested a custom write panel. Not a big deal – I’ve been using the Flutter plugin for this, and it works great.

    HOWEVER.

    This client insists that the custom write panel must be laid out in a certain way – specifically, in a tournament bracket configuration, or at least with two columns for the 16 “teams” in a tournament. The Flutter plugin has a feature to put a group of fields in the right “sidebar”-ish area of the write panel, but that’s not quite what I’m being asked to do.

    Is there a reasonably convenient way to make this happen? I know I can edit the WordPress admin CSS, but that doesn’t help me in targeting the specific fields of the custom write panel, and I’m guessing that any updates to the WordPress installation would overwrite that anyway. Help please?
