• When our WP pages were built it was with a custom version of the jQuery JS library. I have no idea what was done to it, but now it’s causing problems. Is there any way to go back to the default jQuery JS library.

Don’t get too techy with me, as I know next to nothing about WP.

  • What issues are you having?
Who put in the custom version of jQuery (freelancer? theme support? plugin developer?)?
    How was it put in?

If a custom theme developers added the custom jQuery to your custom theme then you will likely need a custom theme developers to replace such thing.

One issue for sure is, we use the plug-in TablePress for our tables. TablePress allows you to sort the table by a column. That sort will no longer work especially in Edge and sometimes will fail in Chrome.

The custom version of JQuery was put in by someone that we paid to develop our pages.

I have no idea as to how it was put in.

If you’re not familiar how it was added then you may need to reach out to a developer to get the issue fixed. Contacting the original developer would be the best option but if that’s not possible then I suggest reaching out to a local WordPress meetup or local WordCamp.

Well, it appears that it has started working. We’ve done nothing on our end and the author of the plug-in has done nothing. Hmm?
