Hi,
Thanks for using our plugin and reaching out to us. You are right, since variant products do not have a product title itself the plugin will use the variable parent product title and add the attribute values to the title.
Adding a custom attribute to the variable parent product is therefor unfortunately not going to work.
All the best,
EvaHi,
Thanks for your quick reply.
Mapping the parent product title with attributes gives a odd title in my case so created a custom field for it.
As per the reply does that mean custom field mapping does not work in case of title.Best regards
Hi
The custom field mapping will work for simple products however as you cannot add custom attributes for variants itself it won’t work for variants indeed.
There are a couple of alternatives though:
You can choose to give the variants the name of the variable product (not the custom attribute). For that to work you need to create this field mapping:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/124ixysun8tz83o/parent_product.png?dl=0You can also choose to use the optimized title feature (part of the paid version of our plugin) which does work for variants: https://adtribes.io/how-to-use-the-optimized-title-field/
All the best,
EvaHi,
Thanks for reply. I got it to work. It was Custom field save issue.
I have another query as below:
1) I have all products with variation. I created the feed (with variation toggle on) for facebook. On syncing to Facebook business manager products shows up and number of products are same as number of parent product which is fine. But the product displayed are child products of each parent and on opening the product the variations are shown under variants tab. On facebook shop too number of products shown is similar as on business manager (ie child products) but it does not show variants.
How can i configure feed to create product to show parent on top and on opening shows dropdown variation selection option like on woocommerce?2)What does Add facebook Pixel do? Does it require adding Facebook pixel plugin?
Best regards
Hi nishitmorakhia,
Let me try answering your questions although I am not entirely sure what it is you mean with your first question:
1. Make sure you have at least the item_group_id added to your feed and at least one common attribute for your grouped variations. So for example make sure they all have color or size or material so Facebook nows what to group them on;
2. Our plugin is also able to add the Facebook Pixel code to your website. I would advise you to enable that option as it will make sure your Facebook catalog feed and pixel code are aligned. See: https://adtribes.io/align-facebook-catalog-facebook-pixel/
Hope this answers your questions?
All the best,
EvaHi Eva,
1)
Please view the below link for variation 3 dropdown selection.
https://fig2.96.lt/product/hard-copper-pipe-tube-1mtr-long-outer-diameter-1-1-2-inch/
See right side dropdown.
Same type of dropdown i am looking to have it in the product in Facebook shop once product clicked or opened.
I am just unsure of the configuration required for showing dropdown.2)
Got it thanksBest regards
Hi,
I understand what it is you are trying to achieve in your Facebook shop. You would, at least, have to have a g:item_group_id in your feeds for the variations and an attribute on which you can select them, like size or color. Are those in your feed for your variation products?
Best,
EvaHi,
g:item_group_id is there in the feed.
Am confused with attribute part. So can you give an example with color mapping setting.Best regards
Hi,
Sure, here we go:
You need to make sure you have a color attribute that you are using for your variations, something like this: https://www.dropbox.com/s/xz3ardek2sjlw1y/fb-shop-1.png?dl=0
The variations will then be identify-able based on color:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/5brwli0c4vsgqkl/fb-shop-2.png?dl=0Then you need to make sure that color is added to your product feed like this:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/8yx228i62nnc169/fb-shop-3.png?dl=0Once you did you need to refresh your product feed. For the variations you will find this in your feed:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/1r8sqb3bt9m8lqt/fb-shop-4.png?dl=0
https://www.dropbox.com/s/dxgqa6i22c2d0mw/fb-shop-5.png?dl=0
https://www.dropbox.com/s/mv86b8b3ikvr6td/fb-shop-6.png?dl=0And that should be enough. You can add more attributes of course such as size, gender, pattern and material.
Hope this makes sense?
All the best,
EvaHi Eva,
Thanks for a explaining in details. I appreciate your response and time.
I did set the feed as per your explanation. I added a custom field and mapped it to attribute. But still products on Facebook shop shows as individual product and no dropdown select option. The mapping in the plugin

Hi,
You added a lot of fields to the feed that are not allowed by Facebook. You cannot add custom fields to the feed. The ones within the red box are not allowed:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/nb8fp3enm5783rm/not-allowed.png?dl=0I believe the drop down will only show for some attributes such as color, size, gender, material and pattern.
Best,
EvaHi,
It use to work when i was using Facebook for Woocommerce Pixel plugin. But that plugin has issues hence opted to go with yours. Hence looking for the similar setup.
And i think facebook allows additional information to be added as per 4th point in below link:

Hi,
Please see Facebook’s requirements here: https://developers.facebook.com/docs/marketing-api/catalog-setup/catalog-feed-setup#da-commerce
It describes what fields are allowed.
Yes additional fields are allowed as long as they are in the list as described on the URL above.
Best,
EvaHi,
The list in the link also has “additional_variant_attribute” for additional attribute.
But its not available in your plugin.Best regards
That is correct as the Facebook template is meant for Facebook Dynamic Ads, see:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/ztp8er8x7i2v07m/Facebbook-DA.png?dl=0The “additional_variant_attribute” is not applicable for for Facebook Dynamic Ads, see: https://www.dropbox.com/s/m5ea2evx945v29e/NA-DA.png?dl=0
