    Hello,

In the user’s profile page, if I select “Custom” and use a value that is currently identical to the value of the “firstname” selection and I save – after the page refresh – the selection is at “firstname” and not at the “Custom” object, hence not honoring my selection.

I understand the logic of this, but I wish to ask to respect the custom selection, even if it is identical to an existing built-in value – because the “firstname” selection may be changed in the future, possibly without me knowing of the change, thus it will affect the real-life outcome, while selecting custom stabilize the value, regardless of the value of WP “firstname” field.

    Thanks!

While it may not seem like it on the surface, the plugin already behaves this in this manner. The list you see in the user profile is just a pre-generated list of possible combinations, but it’s not directly tied to that combination. If a user has the first name of “Bob,” and an admin selects “bob” as the author slug then saves. This author slug will persist even if someone changes Bob’s first name field.

BTW, better add your description text about this to both the plugin’s main page here on www.remarpro.com and as a description text next to the relevant section in the wp-admin UI, to let folks know in advance how this works on changes.
    Thanks.
