All of my custom links associated with images or buttons on my featured projects page is automatically adding my website domain to the beginning of them.

    For example:
I set a custom URL Link to both buttons and images to be – www.samplelink.com – however, when I publish the page, all of the custom URL links are automatically adding my website domain so they now look like the following:

    https://mycompanyaddress.com/www.samplelink.com

It is only happening on specific pages that have parent links to them. All other pages, the custom URL links are working fine.

I am using Google Chrome – my WordPress theme that is being used is: THEMECO PRO.

There has to be a permalink condition set in place that I am not able to navigate/find. Any recommendations?

I found a workaround by removing: www. from my custom url link and just using: https://samplelink.com – this has corrected the issue. However, it’s still weird to me that custom URL link, when I input the link as www. that it automatically adds my domain before it.

It’s not the ‘www.’ part that’s the problem. You need to make sure that you have the ‘https://’ part at the start of the URL (this may also be ‘https://’ if you’re not running a secure site). Without that, WordPress will assume that it’s a local link, and add the sites main URL to the front of it, as you saw at the start.
