Custom URL for move to new site

I found a similar topic like this but it was not answered and it was closed to new postings.

I’m in the middle of building my new site but I will have articles copied from my old Joomla site to my new WP site but because a few of the articles were heavily used posts I would like to be able to have the article on my new WP site to have a custom URL so it will then match the old site if someone were to click on the link from external sites.

I tried a couple custom url plugin’s but can’t seem to find one that does what I’m looking for.

Any suggestions? Thanks!
