Custom URL for author multi author blog

Hi. Using a template that utilizes a author.php. I am going to set up a static bio page for each author, and would like the author name to be a custom URL to that static page… I have tied to use a custom plug for the author deal, but it still pulls up an archive of their posts and the avatar and what not,,, and not the custom static bio url.

PLEASE HELP
