Custom text field is saved across multiple orders

We have a custom test area with flexible checkout which goal is to allow user to add a custom message if it is a gift.
But it seems that flexible save the message a cross months.
So now when there is a new order we keep receiving Christmas message :s
Is it possible to automatically reset the text area ?
