Custom templates not working

    We have been using the web stories for a few months and had created a range of custom templates. These have disappeared, and we are unable to create new ones. (We go to an old story, click on create template from this story, it seems to work… and then disappears when we try to find/use it for a new story)

    Hello @annasaunders , sorry to hear you are facing issues with creating custom templates. Could you please share a few more details with us so we can better troubleshoot?

    1. Could you provide your Site Health information? You can share privately if you prefer. We will look for any obvious plugin conflicts.
    2. Could you please share a screen recording of your experience using a service such as Loom or Recordit then share the URL here? This will help us see the exact issue you are having.

    I’ve also seen this issue, when trying to load the “saved templates” it is failing to load templates, instead it loads uploaded images… Rolling back to the last version worked.

    Saved teplates Issuse fixes don;’t worry you install first plugin Updraft Backups and then you try Delete web story plugin and after my link click and download web story 1.31.0 plugin

    1. Can you check if this issue occurs when Web Stories is the only plugin enabled? You can safely simulate this by using the Health Check & Troubleshooting plugin and enable its troubleshooting mode. This mode disables active plugins and switches to a default theme safely because it only affects the experience of the logged-in user.

      – Enable the Web Stories plugin and let me know if the issue is present.
      – Enable plugins and your theme one by one in this mode to help pinpoint if something else is involved.

    * Note you can disable troubleshooting mode from the plugins page.

    2. The naming of the saved page templates was a feature added in version 1.32.0.

    3. Regarding the issue you are seeing with the broken image icon, could you check for any browser console errors in the browser dev tools and send us a screenshot, using a screenshot sharing service such as Jumpshare or Imgur?
