Thanks for including the ability to create custom templates in my theme.

I found a bug. If you start with the default settings and don’t save any changes, the plugin does not load {theme}/awesome-support/css/style.css. It will only load after saving changes on Admin > Settings > Style page. This is because the theme_stylesheet option is not set at install and the condition fails in the wpas_assets_front_end function.

I’m surprised to hear that. There was indeed a bug with default options not being saved, but it was in an older version. It has been fixed a while ago. Could you please let me know what version of AS you’ve been installing?

The latest version 3.3.2 and I have kept up with the updates since installing more than a year ago.

In further testing on a fresh install, the default settings are indeed being saved. But updating from a previous version with the bug does not backfill the missing defaults like theme_stylesheet.

I’m very sorry to say that, yes, this is due to a bug that was present in older version of AS. I can’t recall exactly in which version this has been fixed (and tests have been added to make sure this doesn’t happen again).

Also, because we don’t want to overwrite the settings you have customized with time, there is no way to add the default settings afterwards.

    Sorry about this issue.

There is a way to backfill and add new default settings. I do this in my plugin Strong Testimonials. It’s no longer a problem for me since figuring out to save each options page but someone else may benefit. If you’re interested I will submit a pull request.

Either way, thanks for the support.
