Custom Template Disappears After Plugin Upgrade

How can this be prevented in future please devs? Can we place these custom templates in our theme folder and call them somewhow?

It’s not going to work going forward to have to keep remembering to back up and re upload that custom file.

sorry stupid me, I missed the instruction on this page:

Download Monitor’s templates can be overridden from your theme by copying them to yourtheme/download-monitor/, or you can add your own new ones to the same folder. They are then referenced in the shortcodes.

I missed it too! Glad to know there’s a workaround. ??

To be clear, you are suppose to edit the template files in your theme like instructed on this page: https://www.download-monitor.com/kb/overriding-content-templates/

All files you edit in the plugin directory will be overridden every time you update te plugin!
