Custom taxonomy for recurring events

Hi all,
I’ve seen a few posts asking about custom taxonomies and the fact that terms are not saved to single recurrences of a recurring event.
In the case of the site I am working on I needed an extra category taxonomy to filter events by so simply changed Event Tags to be hierarchical (line 46) em-posts.php
The labels etc can also be changed however as Event Tags is fully functional out of the box the values assigned to it are saved to single event recurrences and are obviously still accessible via the shortcode:
[events_list tag="$term"]While this is far from an elegant or even comprehensive solution and is of no use to people who are already utilising tags in it’s default non hierarchical setup it may help some people who have come across a similar issue.
The plugin is awesome and I appreciate the hard work that goes in to it, it would be great if it had the flexibility to use any number of custom taxonomies in recurring events but even having an extra “white label” taxonomy to utilise out of the box would be a useful improvement.
