custom taxonomies

hello, I can’t get the slider to use images from a taxonomy. It seems to include images from the whole post type and doesn’t limit by taxonomy and term.
settings> nivo slider> preview (tab)> image selection>
post type: My custom post type
Taxonomy: My taxonomy
Term: my term
