Custom structure will not change?

  • Hi I have the IA theme, running on the latest version of wordpress hosted on Yahoo. I am using a Mac with snow leopard OS.
    When i go to Settings>>Permalinks>>Then click the check box for “custom stricture” , wordpress will not let me enter any thing new into the white dialog box to change the custom structure.
    It currently is auto filled with /%year%/%monthnum%/%day%.%postname%/
    And I just want to change it to /%postname%/
    I do get a popup window that says I need to activate the permalink plugin, except the plugin is activated.
    The problem is that wordpress wont let me enter anything into the Custom structure dialog box??
    Has anyone ever experienced this before that can please offer a few quick words of wisdom.
    Iv been trying for days to figure out how to change my permalink settings, and no luck!!

    What permalink plugin? You don’t need a plugin to set up a custom permalink structure. Try deactivating that plugin.

    The plugin is from Yahoo, it is called “Customizable Permalinks”, when i deactivated it, i was still unable to make any edit to the “custom structure” field. Also all the links on my site stopped working so I had re activate the plugin.

    I heard from a friend that the issue is because my blog is hosted on Yahoo. I am now starting to consider switching hosting companies over this. The more I read about it the more I hear that WordPress with Yahoo hosting just plain sucks!
    Wish some one could offer a solution here?
