    Really need to have a “Custom Start Date” for subscriptions. This could be to allow classes to start at the same time, or subscriptions to other products to start at a specific future date, but it really needs to happen.

    @rgenck,

    Just out of curiosity would some sort of bookings option make more sense for this? If not, I’d be curious to hear more about how your product and classes work. I just wanted to be sure to understand the setup and need exactly. ??

    I don’t think bookings would work, I have two private schools that would like to take applications and then allow students to register over the summer.

    Once a student registers for a class over the summer the schools would like the student to be charged for the first month, and then be able to set the next payment date at the creation of the product, rather than needing to manually edit every single subscription for every single student.

    Another option would be to make the first payment not come out until the specified start date.

    We just need the customer to not be charge a monthly subscription for a class months before it even starts, does that make sense?

    Hi @rgenck,

    It sounds like it’d be a perfect case for Pre-Orders and Subscriptions to work together. Unfortunately, our two extensions for each of those don’t at the time.

    This isn’t possible out of the box with our Subscriptions extension, but there may be some groundwork already there where you can customize the extension to set a specific start date, otherwise, a manual next payment date is possible to set once a subscription is started.

    So there is no way that this functionality will be built into WooCommerce extensions any time soon?

    Subscriptions does have the option of having a “Synchronized Renewal” which could let you pick one specific start date for the recurring payments depending on your different payment intervals. You can also collect a Start Up fee at the time of transaction if you need to secure an initial deposit or other fee.

    You can learn more about setting that up here: https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/subscriptions/renewal-synchronisation/
