Custom Sorting not updating in frontend

First of all, please make sure that you are using the latest version of NextGen Gallery plugin. We’ve done a couple of fixes ref the sorting feature in the latest 2 updates so you will want to ensure that these fixes are in place.

Can you please let us know if the Custom selection is being saved correctly when you are going to edit it in the backend?

Yes, it is saved correctly in the backend. It just not showing the same on frontend.

Can you please also make sure that you have selected “Custom” for the “Default Sort Order” in “Gallery -> Other Options -> Image Options”?

Yes I can confirm, custom is selected in “Gallery – Other Options – Image Options”

Can you please make sure that “Ascending” for the “Order By” value?

I can confirm, the sorting is in direction “Ascending”.

Does it changes anything if using “Ascending” value for sorting? I have verified this on my own test site and the Custom selection worked correctly if using “Ascending”

Hello again. It was Ascending from the beginning. I will try to re-switch to “Ascending” and will return with the results.

Nope, didn’t change anything.

Can you please try to manually re-install NextGen by deactivating,deleting it then downloading a fresh copy of it and installing new and try again to see if this will change anything?

Eventually, a re-install fixed it.
