Custom site search in a link?

  • Hi,

    We sell books on our site and was wondering if there’s a way, maybe with a shortcode or plugin to have a link at the bottom of the post that would search the site and bring up all books by the same author.

    Our titles are formatted like: BOOK TITLE – Author Name and I’d want to base the search on the “Author Name” part.

    Also, if there’s a way to get thumbnails of the post images in the search results would be great.

    what are you using for your estore management? woocommerce?

    i.e. how are product entered?

    based on that info i might have a few thoughts for you

    Yes, woocommerce.

    We use standard posts as the product page with the real product not showing.

    woocommerce does have a paid plugin for this type of feature here

    or you might be able to leverage this plugin and a custom template for results (see their FAQs for more info on this piece)
