Custom sidebar not showing up

    I have followed all directions and am not seeing the custom sidebar I created show up on the intended page.

    The custom sidebar has a login widget in it. I am trying to use it on a forum homepage(bbpress). I opened the forum page and chose the custom sidebar to replace the main sidebar. Nothing happens. The theme I am using is SmartMag. Am I missing a file??

    I hope you are well today and thank you for your question.

    Are you referring the following page as forum homepage(bbpress)?

    https://example.com/forums/

    If yes then you can set the custom sidebar to be displayed on this page by clicking on the “Sidebar Location” link of the custom sidebar and then selecting “Forum Archives” in the Archive Types as displayed in the following screenshot.

    If you want to display the custom sidebar on single forum pages like following

    https://example.com/forums/forum/test-forum/

    then you can do so by selecting Forums as Post Types in the Sidebar Location pop up as shown in the following screenshot.

    To display custom sidebar on specific forum, you have to select the custom sidebar in the Sidebars metabox displayed in the Edit Forum screen.

    Thank you very much. Yes the problem was with bbPress and yes what you suggested solved the problem. Thanks! Unfortunately now I’m getting an Error 404 when trying to visit individual forums.. if its not one thing its another!

    For the Error 404 you can try resaving your permalink settings.
