    Hi,
We are using Custom Sidebar 2.07 on a new website under development using a WordPress theme called Leonardo 1.03.
We noticed that when we create and implement a new Custom Sidebar that the Default Sidebar is not replaced, the Custom Sidebar is just added to it so we end up with 2 sidebars.
The theme author stated that they do not support 3rd party sidebars and suggested that I contact you directly.

Any help would be much appreciated….

    Thanks!

  • Hi @canu,

I hope you are well today.

I have tested it on my test site using default WordPress theme Twenty Thirteen and it worked fine without displaying duplicate sidebars.

This may be theme specific issue.

Could you please try using default WordPress theme like Twenty Thirteen to confirm this is theme specific issue?

Are you using the following theme?

    https://www.hermesthemes.com/themes/leonardo/

If yes then could you please try using the latest version 1.0.6 of the theme.

    Kind Regards,

    Hi WPMU DEV,
I’m doing fine thanks, I hope that you are well too.

The theme that I was using was Leonardo version 1.03 and I switched to TwentyThirteen and didn’t have the same problem so I think that you’re right and that this is a theme specific issue.

I updated the Leonardo theme to the latest verson (1.07) and have the same problem I’m afraid.

    Hi @canu,

    Thank you for your reply.

As the theme is a premium theme so i can’t download it freely to test and troubleshoot it on my test site.

Could you please send me the theme on the email id [email protected] so that i can troubleshoot it on my test site?

    Hi Vinod,
There’s been a development in the last 24 hours.
We discovered that the Custom Sidebar didn’t work for a particular page template so that once we switched to a default template, it functioned correctly.
As this is the case, please consider the matter closed.

Thank you for all of your help.

    Regards,
