Custom Registration Fields, strange error

    Currently using 6.3.8 and we have a problem using custom fields. Following:

    Everything works well. However, we get the following strange error:

    Whenever the user fails (due to existing username, email or captcha) and all custom fields are empty, you get the correct error message, such as:

    “ERROR: This username is already registered, please choose another one.”

    However, as soon as the user populates any of the custom fields, and fails (due to existing username, email or captcha) then we are redirected to our 404 page. Turning on ‘404 Redirected’ and repeating, we are redirected back to the registration page as if nothing has happened. We’ve turning on debugging and no error messages appear during the process.

    Any suggestions on how we resolve this?
