Custom registration disabled message

  • I’ve got my WordPress multisite/Buddypress site set up as invite only with the help of the Invite Anyone plugin.

    Now I’m looking for a way to modify the “User registration is currently not allowed” message that WordPress produces, so that I can provide more detail such as contact info in case someone wants to request an invite.

    Does anyone know of a way that this can be done? — Ideally, from my theme’s functions.php?
