I’ve created a new post type (Talent) and added a custom taxonomy (Genre). I’ve populated the new Genre type with numerous items. However, when I go to the “Add New” Talent page, the Genre types do not show up as selectable. I see the “Add New Genre”, but not able to select existing options.

Looks like you’re wanting the checkbox version. As is with your screenshot, if you previously added “comedy”, and in that textbox you started typing “comedy” it should show up as an existing item that you could then click on and it’d use that existing term.

However, since I think you’re wanting the checkboxed version where it lists them all ahead of time, set your Genre taxonomy to be hierarchical. That’ll get the checkboxes in place for existing terms, and also allow you to set parent/child relationships if that’s in mind for later. For example “improv” could be a child genre term of “comedy”

    Hello Michael,

Thanks for that. That did give me the checkboxes I want. Trying to find out why they are not being populated from a Gravity Form. But, that’s a different issue.

    Thanks!

Welcome, hopefully those populating from a gravityform submission is straightforward to get fixed up.
