I downloaded the above plugin in to block some spam & now currently unable to edit website… A blank screen will come up in safari…. “Too many redirects occurred trying to open “my web site is here”. This might occur if you open a page which then redirected to open the original page.

Does anyone know how I can remove this plug-in? I can’t work on my site till its removed… I can see my site fine just by typing in my link… I am only unable to work on my site. Thank you
    Dave

    Hi Dave,

Did you customize your block list at all? This should only occur if you have your own domain in the block list.

Can I please ask for the domain of your site and I can review lists to see if I can provide a quick fix for you today?

I’m disappointed to hear of your frustrations as it’s my goal to provide quality plugins which I thoroughly test before updating.

Do you have FTP access to your site? I’d be happy to assist with resolution.

    Update:

I’m now able to reliably reproduce the bug and should have a fix posted within the next 1-2 hours.

I appreciate your patience and hope that you will reconsider your feedback once this issue has been resolved.

I’ve just uploaded version 1.0.1 which resolves this infinite redirect loop. I apologize for the trouble you’ve experienced.

I understand that you may be locked out from your wordpress dashboard. I can help provide assistance uploading the new version, or uninstalling the plugin, to resolve the problem.

Where is your website hosted? Do you have FTP or control panel access?

    Hi Dave,

I noticed you’ve not had a chance to respond. The best way to correct the problem is to use FTP or control panel to delete or upgrade the plugin.

Starting from the wordpress directory on your server you will need to locate the folder named “custom-referral-spam-blocker” which should be inside of “wp-content/plugins/”.

You can either download version 1.0.3 and overwrite the exsting files in wp-content/plugins/custom-referral-spam-blocker/ or delete the custom-referral-spam-blocker folder.

Please let me know where your website is hosted and what access you have available if you need further assistance.

    Best Regards,
    Jacob
