Custom Profile Fields not Showing

I don’t know if this is a wordpress or buddypress problem (I am using BP ver 1.6.1), but I created custom profile fields that users have to fill in when registering. But, when I click on a user’s profile in my dashboard, they don’t show up.

1) How do I get them to show in the user’s profile?
2) Where has this data gone? I can’t find it anywhere.
