Hi, I am rebuilding a custom post type feature on a site upgrade. Previously custom post types were used to allow a text based type of email advert (but basically a post) that could be dragged into a Mailpoet newsletter (as a custom post). This worked well but I am unable to replicate it. I am using Mailpoet 3 and the Custom Post Type UI plugin however, whilst I have been able to create a dummy advert (as per link) it doesn’t appear in the posts selection box of Mailpoet. Mailpoet suggested I make the public settings of the custom posts ‘True’ which I had already done. I’m a bit stuck.

Any idea why posts wouldn’t be visible to Mailpoet?

    Thanks

    Matt

Honestly have no idea on this one. It sounds like a custom integration into Mailpoet’s code and UI which CPTUI doesn’t explicitly have any hand in. Our primary purpose and feature is getting the content types registered for our users. What those users do after registration, is kind of out of our hands.

So I don’t know how this was set up beforehand and any proverbial hoops were jumped through to make this sort of compatibility work here.

Ok I found the solution, I had to change ‘Capability Type’ from default ‘post’ to something custom like ’emailads’ which separated them into a new menu option away from regular posts. All good now and searchable in Mailpoet, cheers.

Interesting and glad you managed to get this figured out as well, for this implementation.
