Custom Post Types not showing in Category Archive

    Hi there

    I am using Astra theme with Elementor Pro page builder.
    I have created a custom post type called “Tours”.

    I cannot seem to find any of my custom post type “Tours” in their relevant category archive. However, I can see my blog posts (Posts) in its relevant category archive though.

    I am using Category (WP Core) taxonomy with my custom post type (Tours). Not sure if that might be an issue.

    When I create an Archive template in Elementor and set it to only preview a certain Tour category, the tours do not show, but when I set it to only show a blog category, then it shows.

    Also, all the posts (Blog posts and Tour post) show in the Search Results archive.

    I have no idea what the problem may be.
    I’d greatly appreciate your help.

    Elementor support may be a bit better for answering this one than I am. They’ll know the settings needing set up and configured to work with their modules more than I do.

    I’m not sure at the moment what needs to be done for these, outside of code snippet tutorials that I’ve done in the past, like the one at https://docs.pluginize.com/article/17-post-types-in-category-tag-archives

    Sounds good.

    Had the same problem with Hello Elementor Pro and CPT UI trying to put together archive pages. I couldn’t find the Archive page I was supposed to be targeting, even after setting Has Archive to TRUE, changing the slug, resetting permalinks, etc.

    Michael’s post above solved the problem for me. Added the code snippet to the functions file to have WordPress recognize my post type, and refreshed. Done.
