custom post types and permalinks

Ok, my current dilemma is that I have custom post types and categories under them. I want my permalinks to show that order as so:
https://www.examplesite.com/custom_post_type/custom_post_type_category/post
Cannot seem to do it no matter what.
Can anyone shed light on this?
