custom post type not expiring

The post expirator appears to not be working at all for my custom post type (I haven’t tried it, on this site, with built-in post types, though I’ve used it with great success on other sites).
I’ve checked the affected items. Each of them has an expiration date set that is now in the past, but the items are still “published.”
On the main “post expirator” settings screen, under “defaults,” the “Expiration values for: infopost” is set to “active”. The “How to expire” is set to “draft”. Is there a setting that I have missed?
