Custom Post Type instead of stores

  • Hi,

    I want to use WP Store Locator to show schools instead of stores. Therefor I intend to create a custom post type with advanced custom fields.
    Is there a way to use this custom information as the data for my WP Store Locator Map?
    Following idea’s:
    – use specific post type name
    – use specific field names
    – add php at the moment to store a custom post type, that copies data to simulate a store in WP Store Locator format

    Anyone ever did this?

    Do you need to use the schools data somewhere else in the site?

    If your comfortable with code, then you could just use ACF inside the store locator plugin, and translate everything from stores to schools, and use the ACF data together with the filters to make it show up on the single store pages / search results ( I can point you in the right direction how to make that work ).

    School data is mainly for publishing on the map.
    Yes, I am comfortable with coding PHP, html and CSS. So if you could point me to some additional support information that would be great.
    Translation is not a problem; I will take the dutch language as the starting point and adjust the terms I want to use.
