Custom Post Type Archive Template Not Blocked

I am also trying it with the built in post type “posts” using a page as the blog page: https://www.cqwebdesign.co.uk/roadtorecoverygroup.org.uk/news/

I must be missing something because its not blocking them here either?

The “blog” page will not block like other pages. If this needs to be blocked, then you really need to redirect it (something you can do with the wpmem_redirect_to_login() function).

Looking at your pages, it appears you are neither using the “read more” tag or auto excerpt. You need to use one or the other.
