  • I have the same problem

We use it with custom posts. For example

    [catlist post_type=”event”]

where obviously you need to substitute event with the name of your custom post type.
    Hope this helps.

I’m able to show posts from the custom post type, but if I try to use name or id to show from only certain categories within the custom post type no list appears. Tags don’t work either. Is it possible to display posts from specific categories?

    [catlist post_type=portfolio name=elearning numberposts=8]

Thanks for any help on this. It’s driving me crazy.

setarcos: this sort of request (post_type, name, numberposts) works fine for me and we use it all the time (also with tag).

Are you absolutely sure everything is spelled correctly and that there are posts of that type in that category that are *published*?

    setarcos

    (@setarcos)

AACT – Thanks for confirming this.
I have tried everything I can think of, but still can’t get it to work. Posts are definitely published and I can return the full list from the custom post type, but filtering will not work.

Could there be something wrong with my theme? Is there any way to debug this?

Thanks again AACT – solved my next problem

setarcos – try using the id= – in your shortcode id= your category number of course – which you will see when hovering your mouse over the category in the category list (at the bottom left of your browser) – hope this helps
