• I am a beginner and love this theme.
However I got into trouble when I started teaching myself PHP. I am apply this method:
https://glassocean.net/how-to-use-custom-php-functions-and-shortcodes-in-wordpress/ and it works fine until I make additional changes. It results in locking me out of my admin login. I can fix by reinstall Parabola but that soon gets out of control and finally gave up.
I do not want to use PHP plugin after reading about security issues.
Is there any way you can suggest for a beginner can run PHP with Parobola?

  • What sort of custom php functions are you trying to use and why? Sounds like you’re playing the “If it ain’t broke, I’m gonna try and fix it” card. There is a plugin for everything so you don’t need to code anything.

    Hello Skulldragon.

I am a beginner and I have eliminated my child theme and will use custom css provided within the PARABOLA theme settings. The custom css is mostly for header changes.

I am just learning PHP. I have removed my custom PHP for now but will need some custom PHP for a condo association application I am working on. I will use FORMIDABLE PRO for most of the forms work but will need some custom PHP for one of the billing pages and possibly in the work-order routines.

As I mentioned, I am a beginner and I am thinking I will use short-codes and a folder named functions_brad.php contain my custom php.

I am hosting at SiteGround. My PARABOLA has crashed several times and the fix was to delete the theme folder and reinstall. I have no clue why but I was changing code at the time. In one case, I was changing PAGE content in WP.

Regarding the header widget “slamming” left over the company name, I did find that you are aware of the issue and it will be fixed
    Thanks for your response
