"Custom Page Type"

  • I am looking to make an advanced profile page for multisite users. When a user registers a site they have permission to fill out the information for their profile page, but not actually edit the page or create new ones. I have been using ‘custom POST types’ but was wondering if ‘custom PAGE types’ existed because I can’t seem to find it. My thought was to create a page on the blog template, give new users permission to edit the custom page type, but not create so they are limited to the 1 page. Any thoughts or ideas?

    Oh almost forgot, part of the dilemma I am in is that these users are permitted to create normal blog posts, but I would not want them to be able to create more than one custom post type, so if I had a custom page type then restricting their role from creating pages would cover that.
