Hello,

I created a page on my site and put a feed of events (from The Events Calendar) on that page so I can control the layout a bit more. The slug for the page needs to be /events. But, that’s the slug within the Events Calendar’s settings. How can I make it so my page is /events and there is no default events archive produced by The Events Calendar? When I try to simply delete the “Events URL slug” and “Single event URL slug” from the settings, they reappear after I save. I could put in a slug of “events-old” and not show that URL in the navigation menu, but won’t that mean that sitename.com/events-old would still be out there, indexed on the web?

Update: I did what I said above (changed the Event URL slug to events-old). Everything is working well, except the category archive (which I also customized) shows events-old in the URL:

I’d love to be able to set /events as the slug and keep that for the categories as well. Thank you!!

Thanks for reaching out.

Your desired use-case scenario may be possible with some custom coding, but if you decide to give that a try, please note we cannot provide full support for custom implementations like that.

Please note that event tags and categories will have the same pattern for their URL, and that is <WP siteURL>/<Events URL slug>/<category name or tag name>. So, if you want to use the category page on your page /events, then it would need customization.

Thank you! I ended up coming up with another solution to customize everything now that I know this would be a bit tricky to manipulate. Thank you again!
