Custom Meta Field for Link Manager

Hi All,

I would like to add a meta box to the link manager. It would be a simple text field that holds the source name for the link for instance “New York Times” or “Boston Globe”. From what I understand ‘links’ are not a ‘post-type’ so I cannot use add_meta_box(). Is that true? And if so, is there another way to add a meta box to this part of the admin?
