custom meta box – how to group custom fields

  • Greetings

    I have a bunch of custom fields that I would like to have within the same meta box.

    Those fields are already created and poluated on many pages, but for the sake of organisation, I try to do like a one would call a custom write panel or something similar, hence my wish to groups some custom fields under the umbrela one of custom meta box and others custom fields under another custom meta box

    I have followed several tutos to create new meta boxes, and that is fine so far

    but I have tried to find a ressource to teach me to join already done custom fields, but failed, maybe someone has a pointer

    also, is it possible to have within the same meta box both custom fields and taxonomied?

  • Good question. I’ve also difficulties with space in the admin area and wish to find a way to group them somehow.

    as soon as I find a way to group them, then I will post it here
    so far I have not been really successfull, specially concidering that the meta box might be handled differently in WP 3.3

    That could be a problem facing this issue but they should add a feature to make this possible. I hope we find some solution anyway.

    Did you use any plugin to create your fields?
    Have you tried this plugin if it works for you?

    no I do my meta custom fields by hands

    I will have a look at this plugin which look like VERY interresting
