Custom Menus on Pages

Does anyone know of a way I can create multiple menus. I don’t know how to explain it so it’s best to just have a look. I’m trying to create something like https://www.bhg.com/recipes/ The recipes section has a different sidebar menu from say decorating and then different again for gardening.

How can I accomplish this without doing a multisite application? I already get quite a bit of traffic so I don’t want anyone to get 404’s following a link.

Not sure what to do, I found a plugin that had custom widgets but it got pretty complicated and would mess up a lot. I do know a little css and php just not what I actually need to know.
