custom menu – widget or plugin

    Hi got a pretty basic question –
    I already have a custom built menu I made on my page. One of the menu buttons will open up (in essence a pop-up) an image gallery when clicked. I figure I have one of two options:
    1) write the code to create a custom pop-up
    2) install a widget that may make things easier

    Do I have my assumptions correct, upon this event of a user clicking the button?
    Any supporting threads / info appreciated.

    Ok so I decided to install the “Featured Content Gallery” plugin.

    It asks me to input this code:

    < ?php include (ABSPATH . ‘/wp-content/plugins/featured-content-gallery/gallery.php’); ?>

    Can anyone tell me where to put this? in header? footer?
