• Dear WP Forum readers,

I found out that installing the Auto RSS Scroller PLUGIN disabled the ajax ability to drag and drop custom menu items in WP. Disabling the PLUGIN re-enables the drag and drop.

I hope this helps one of you out there.

  • Hi,

Is this a plugin that is in the WordPress plugin directory?

Also, it may be helpful if you contact the plugin developer to let them know of the conflict you’re having.

    Happy New Year!

Hi there, I am also having drag & drop problems, however I don’t have the plugin you mentioned. Is there another plugin that could be causing the problem? When I try to drag I get the crosshairs but it starts highlighting the text instead of moving the bar.

    Thanks for any advice!

    Hi Ann-Marie,

I noticed that the PLUGIN through its auto scrolling feature somewhat affects the Ajax coding for the drag and drop, so perhaps look at any other Plugin that you may have installed that has auto scrolling or stock ticker type of news installed.

Lastly do this: select all the Plugins and do a BULK Deactivate and Open a NEW Tab window to test the drag and drop, then Activate each Plugin one by one while refreshing the Menus window.

This way for sure you will find the Plugin that is affecting your Menus, please post your results since this seems to be a common problem with a few Plugins.

    Thanks!
