Custom menu disappears in child theme

    I’m working in a child theme of 2014 and I created my rather intricate custom menu in the child theme. I use it as part of the header bar. Today it went poof, not only from the main page but also from the menu listing under Appearance. I thought using a child theme would stop this particular issue. What can I do to keep a copy or otherwise make sure this doesn’t happen over and over again? I’m tired of recreating the menu every few weeks.

    Please be specific with any advice you give. I know little CSS and no php.

    It seems that the Stealth Publish plugin is the culprit. The plugin author is aware but hasn’t fixed it. I’ve disabled and deleted it. Hopefully, that will do the trick.
