• I keep getting this issue, used 2 different plugins that allow custom login URLs and blocking the default wp-login.php url. One of them is WP-Hide & Security Enhancer, which I have used on a number of websites before without this issue. I tried logging in once, and then logging out in a different browser and I’m still being redirected. If I activate the setting to treat the default url as a 404 error page, this redirect forces all login attempts into the 404 error page. I’ve never encountered anything like this before and can’t find any logical reason for this forced redirect.

Given that this same issue has surfaced across multiple plugins, I have to conclude it’s not the plugins but something going on in the WordPress core that’s triggering this problem.

It’s crucial that I’m able to set this custom login url up and have it work properly and block the default url as the site’s getting a large volume of brute force attacks on the default url. I need to be able to shut these attacks down. WordFence is blocking them but that’s still an unnecessary risk and load on my client’s servers to have these attacks allowed to persist.

Could a moderator please move this back to the general support forums? This is NOT an issue with ONE SPECIFIC plugin, but a general issue with any plugin that sets custom login urls so I really need more generalized WordPress support then for a specific plugin.

I also have the exact same issue with Hide My WP Ghost – Security Plugin as well and at first thought that plugin was the cause, but as I’m having the same issue confirmed with 2 different plugins, it’s NOT a plugin issue, but a WORDPRESS core or server issue.
