Custom login page redirects to WP login page

It looks like the original wp-login.php file has been renamed to newlogin__.php.

I think that’s a bad idea. But anyway, your problem is that the login form on the home page, posts to wp-login.php (which, I believe has been modified, that just shows a link to login to the original WP login page, that is now renamed as newlogin__.php)

So, the solution here is, to modify the FORM action URL to be the same as that on https://onlinetradinguniversiteit.nl/newlogin__.php

Okay that’s strange because I haven’t changed anything in the code for a while..

When I look in the Editor I can’t find the wp-login.php and newlogin__.php. I am still learning my way around WordPress. Could you tell where I can modify the FORM action?

You’ll see those files from your FTP file manager in the root of your WP installation.

Found them:) But I am not sure what I have to do next..

When I open wp-login.php in wordpad it says: Login via: Login pagina

And when I open newlogin__.php in wordpad I get a very long code that handles authentication, registering, resetting passwords, forgot password and other user handling.

Do I have to change anything in these codes? Or do I need to modify something else?

Okay please take a full system backup and then follow these steps.

1) Rename wp-login.php to old-wp-login.php
2) Rename newlogin__.php to wp-login.php

Test everything to make sure everything works.
