    Dear Solid Security Team,

I am reaching out to inquire about a specific feature of the plugin that I activated — the option to relocate the WordPress login page.

While I’ve successfully implemented this feature and noticed that the default wp-login slug has been deactivated as expected, I’ve encountered an issue where the wp-admin slug still redirects to the login page.

I’m unsure if this behavior is by design, implying that additional steps are required on my part to disable the wp-admin slug access, or if it might be an unintended behavior or bug within the plugin.

Could you please clarify if the plugin is designed to also handle the wp-admin login slug, or if I should implement a custom solution to address this? Your guidance on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you very much for your time and assistance. I look forward to your response.

    Warm regards

Hi @kvmz72, thanks for getting in touch! I see you have a question about how HBE works, and I’m happy to help.

The HBE feature seems to work as expected on your site because you confirmed that the wp-login slug is deactivated.

As for the wp-admin slug still redirecting to the login page, can you confirm if you’ve accessed the custom slug on the browser first before trying the wp-admin slug? If so, this is the expected behavior because once the custom slug is accessed on a browser, a cookie is set by the plugin (for about an hour). As long as the cookie remains, you can access wp-login.php or wp-admin without needing to access the Hide Backend Login Slug first.

I’d recommend testing the wp-admin slug on a private browser window and see if it redirects to 404.

Please let me know if this helps or if you have a different problem with the feature.
