• Hi all. I’m unable to save custom links to my wordpress installation. Any time I attempt to do so, either from the Customize window or from the Menu dashboard, the only thing not saved is the link and target (title, description, everything else will save).

This is with WordPress 5.7.2. I’ve turned off all plugins and switched to Twenty Twenty-One theme, and I see no change in behavior. If someone could assist, that would be amazing. Thank you.

  • Hi @shpemu, I have recently ran into the same issue.

Please note: it’s not a bug in WordPress.

What resolved my issue was adding my site as an exception in my Anti Virus.

I Had an update from Bitdefender which caused this issue.

No, that wasn’t the issue. I don’t have Bitdefender, I’m not on a PC, and my anti virus isn’t blocking anything.

hi @shpemu, I just tested in a new WordPress installation and everything seemed to work fine. Was there any error message on the page when you saved them? Or was there errors in the browser console that you can share with us?

@kevin940726 I noticed that, too, in a clean installation. I’m not sure why it’s happening in this other installation. I guess I might have to start from scratch (again).

I’m not seeing any on-screen errors and nothing in the console. I’ll keep investigating.
