    Hi,

I want to add a custom link to my main menu, Seems simple enough, but nothing happens when I click on Custom Links. Nothing happens when I click on any of the other options either, including Events, Posts etc.

I have full admin access, and I used to be able to add a custom link to the menu. I have attempted it from Appearance:Menu and from Appearance:Customize.

Neither allow me to add custom links to the menu.

    Any ideas why?

  • Hi Cristobal, since when are you facing this issue? Did you update WordPress recently?

Please check if you are getting any javascript errors in the browser console. That will give you some idea on whats happening.

    Hi Samuel,

    Thanks for trying to help.

I ran WordPress admin again and watched as 4 errors immediately appeared (see below). I had previously tried in other browsers (Firefox, Edge) with the same problem, and with other users and other computers.

Thanks Cristobal. However, you did not mention since when are you facing these errors. Did you update your WordPress recently and then started facing these issues?

Thats a good question. We are more than one admin, so I don’t know the answer to this question.

However, I do know that it is updated to the latest version, and the last time I tried to add custom links was many months ago.

Hi Cristobal, WordPress 5.5 had major jQuery changes. I suggest you read this blog post and see if using jQuery Migrate plugin helps fix your issues.

    Hi Samuel,

Your fix worked a treat. Many thanks.
