Custom link in menu not showing

I am building a new site and they want me to add a link to the top menu for their online store they have elsewhere (https://shop.centershotgunrange.com). However, even though I can add the external custom link in the top menu and see it when I click Visit Site in the WordPress interface, from the outside NOBODY sees it. I tried to put a link to Google in as a test and that didn’t work, either. What gives?
