you seem to have two websites huntly.net and visithuntly.net

Do you want the home page of huntly.net to be visithuntly.net/events?

Can you explain more?

On the visithuntly.net site I would like the ‘Events’ calendar to be the landing page. But this is not a page, it is a menu link to visithuntly.net/events, so I can’t see how to make this the front page.

Just had a look, and the event calendar doesn’t have shortcodes which would make creating a page easy

Followed your suggestion in the second link . Had to slightly modify the code for the redirect:

header("Location: $proto://$host/$wp_dir/category/events/");

becomes
header("Location: $proto://$host/?post_type=tribe_events");

Works great and I have now set the page as the front page.
