In my case the custom icons option is not working…after I create the folder, the site crashes. I use Genesis framework/Kreativ Pro child theme. I verified it locally with the same theme and apparently it works…so the problem could be the hosting

    Update I found a solution:

    1. I opened the .svg file with Notepad++
    2. I deleted the XML markup
    3. I modified the config.json where I inserted the details for every SVG file
    4. uploaded all SVGs and JSON file in coblocks/icons/ directory

!Without JSON file my site crashed!
!SVG files uploaded with XML markup cannot be seen in editor!

    Hi @tomitzu,

Thank you for making this support request regarding the custom icons feature. You are correct that all XML markup must be removed from custom icons before they may be used in the editor. I was not able to replicate that a JSON file is required. I was able to run with and without the JSON configuration file present. This feature is not that well documented yet but we are working on getting consistent documentation published. For posterity here is the current documentation for the custom icons feature.
